"Sweets' Cattle Company's goal isn't quantity, it's quality."

Currently, Sweets' Cattle Company only owns 5 breeding cows, 3 purebred Gelbvieh cows and 2 commercial cows.

The goal is not to have a huge herd, but to ensure the quality of genetics in my herd.  My perfect herd size would be about 15 momma cows, eventually.

I rely 100% on Artificial Insemination in my herd.  The only bulls I keep around are bull calves that are sold as soon as they are breeding age.  That way, I am better able to do selective breeding and I am able to ensure that my cattle are safe while they are being bred.  Sometimes, with natural breeding, you can run into cows buckling under the weight of the bull and/or the bull can hurt himself.  I try to cut down injury as much as possible.  Artificial Insemination is my best way to do that.
